Timbarra College P-9 offers students from Prep to Year 9 an extensive range of camps and activities which enhance the learning and engagement of all students throughout the year.
Incursions and excursions for all year levels and subject areas are designed to complement students learning of the Victorian curriculum in real-world learning environments. The activities and camps aim to develop the whole child and encourage independence, resilience and deeper thinking.
The following camps are currently offered at Timbarra College P-9:
Year 5 Sovereign Hill
Year 5 students are provided with the opportunity to have 3 Day Camp at the Sovereign Hill Living Museum in Ballarat. The Sovereign Hill camp experience will run for the first time in 2023 in Semester 2. Student will have stimulating and immersive experiences, with a focus on the 1850’s gold rush heritage and the environment. The 'hands-on' learning experiences are indoors, outdoors, above ground or below ground, providing tremendous variety to ensure a fun and action-packed camp. Students will explore exhibits including visiting a vast array of shops, industries and cottages. Some activities and demonstrations include the Gold Pour, Candle Makers and Mine Tours, gold panning, museum exploration and you can enjoy our multi-sensory evening experience AURA.
Year 6 Phillip Island
In Year 6, students participate in a three-day camp during Term 2 at CYC Adventure Resort, located on 100 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in the heart of Phillip Island. The camp program is designed to promote self-confidence, strengthen friendships, and develop higher-order thinking skills through a range of engaging and challenging activities. Students will take part in experiences such as the giant swing, disc golf, archery, flying fox, and drone flying. This memorable camp provides students with valuable opportunities for personal growth, teamwork, and resilience in a supportive outdoor environment.
Year 9 City Experience
The Year 9 Melbourne City Experience Camp is a 3 Day Camp which takes place in the end of term 3. This experience is a highlight of student’s secondary experience at Timbarra P-9 College and is a wonderful opportunity for our students to further develop their independence. The camp runs for three days with the students spending two nights at the Village Melbourne. Students use Public Transport to get in and around the city to participate in a range of activities. Some of these activities include; ArtVo, Ice Skating, Archie Brothers Arcade, night markets, Luna Park, Yarra River Cruise and The Amazing Race.
