All Victorian government primary schools follow the statewide Year 6 to 7 placement timeline.
The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child at a Victorian government secondary school. Applications for Year 7 open at the start of Term 2.
Victorian government primary schools manage the Year 7 placement process for their Year 6 students in accordance with the timeline. At the start of Term 2, primary schools will distribute information packs to parents and carers.

Students at Non-Government Primary Schools:
Families of Year 6 students at non-government schools may approach secondary schools directly. Non-government families must still use the Application for Year 7 Placement 2027 and supply a copy to your child’s Primary School.
