2020/2021 Prep Transition Program

In line with current DHHS and Department of Education restrictions

Story Telling “Crafternoons”

We are really looking forward to meeting our Prep 2021 children and are so pleased to be able to offer each enrolled student for Prep 2021 a visit to the school to participate in a storytelling and craft session with a current Prep Teacher. This will be a wonderful opportunity for your child to visit our college library and take part in an engaging prep activity to give them an idea of what school is like. They will be able to create a craft item that they can take home with them and will also be presented with a showbag as they leave. The showbag will contain tips and information for supporting your child to prepare for their first year of school, some tools for learning and other goodies!

  • There will be strict guidelines for these sessions which we must adhere to (please see below for COVID requirements).

  • We are able to accommodate a maximum of 10 kinder children, plus their parents (max. of 2) and the kinder teacher/early childhood educator. Children will be able to attend one session only.

Parent information session

This will be hosted over Zoom Wednesday November 4th 2020 from 9:15am and repeated on Wednesday 25th November at 9:15am. It will run for approximately 45 minutes. This is a presentation for parents to inform you of our school’s policies and procedures. It is a great opportunity to find out about the operations of our college including how we deliver our curriculum, how we celebrate success and support all students to reach their learning potential both academic and social/emotional. You will also have the chance to speak to a current prep teacher and ask questions. An appointment time can be made to discuss your child’s particular needs if you would prefer to do so in a private setting. Please register for the Zoom Information Session at the school office - 97042744.

Together we will aim to provide the best possible transition experience for each child, taking into account their individual needs, interests and point of learning. In the meantime, it is a wonderful idea to show your child the Timbarra College Virtual School Tour on our website.
